Geriatric Medical's roots back to 1945, when Jack Siegal founded Bo-Peep Diaper Service, a successful diaper delivery business catering to the needs of a generation of “baby boomers.” With his dedication to good prices, dependable service, and respect for customers and employees alike, Jack established the core values his son, grandsons and other family members carry forward as they lead the company today.
Jack knew that you had to be ready to adapt to stay competitive. When the demand for cloth diapers dwindled in the 1970's, he applied his expertise with home delivery to enter the growing market for medical supplies. In the same way, today's Geriatric Medical continues to change with the times, embracing new technology as the foundation of our responsive customer service and efficient operations. But Geriatric Medical is as much about people and products as it is about technology.
Today, Geriatric Medical is looking to be a pioneer in the wholesale medical supply space, working with state of the art, innovative technology to provide the best ordering, inventory, and product supply systems to support our ever growing customer base. We realize that our customer’s top priority is the care of their patients and this shouldn’t be hindered. Our intelligent systems allow our customers to care for patients without having to worry about key business functions (Re write this, but general idea here)
Being a locally owned business has its advantages. We are part of the fabric of the community, maintaining relationships with many of the same customers first served by our founder decades ago. We have developed a multicultural and diverse workforce with built-in opportunities for advancement. We have created a decidedly un-corporate work environment with family-friendly policies and excellent benefits. That is why so many of our employees have been with us for five, 10, 15 years or more.
We set out to make our delivery service be the most competitive in the area. To achieve this goal we needed help from our most important asset, our employees, and our employees came through exponentially When we wanted to make our delivery service the most competitive in the area, our employees came through. We were able restructure staff hours to add a second shift that allows us to fill orders long after other suppliers have closed.
We like to say our company is "right-sized," not too small to provide the very best products and delivery options but not too big to nurture flexible decision-makers who can easily provide personalized customer service

At Geriatric Medical, we have embraced technology and woven it into every aspect of our business. We have developed the ALL NEW GeriatricMedical.com to allow online ordering system, utilizing an electronic data interface to accept, track and report on customer orders, quickly and easily. We have outfitted the warehouse with computers throughout, so information on orders to be filled is always at reach.
And we pride ourselves on our preparedness. Should there be a disaster, we have multiple high-speed Internet lines and back-up servers located in three different weather zones (and different power grids), providing vital backup. In addition, our sophisticated systems of generators will immediately activate, enabling us to continue all aspects of business operations without interruption. Our goal is to minimize client risk and ensure that all operations are safe and secure.
Our technology and access to data allows us to provide class-leading service and to do so in the most efficient manner. This allows us to pass along the savings in the form of lower prices and drastically differentiated service.
Technology has allowed Geriatric Medical to enhance our customer service, with many of us “plugged in” 24/7 and able to access information on orders and deliveries in just a few minutes. We have the ability to track our drivers to pinpoint arrival times and receive electronic alerts regarding orders placed after hours.
